A life with music

Have you ever listened to music that made you feel a lot of feelings without saying a word?

Hi, guys! This time I'm going to share with you my experience learning about music genres. Let's begin!

Author: Parker Ch. (2021).
Sometimes our life just needs a bit of music to make it seem like a movie.

As we are working on the topic of Human Ingenuity, we took over an important subtopic which is Entertainment focusing on Music and Concerts, and to make this topic more interesting for us, our teacher decided to assign us to do a presentation talking about a music genre.

So I was thinking about what I could do for the presentation, or what genre of music I could talk about to my classmates, and I decided to talk about the one I'm passionate about: classical music.

What is a musical genre?

First of all, a genre is a type of something, in this context the differents kind of music that artist make-up. So, in short the musical genre is the different types of music we can listen to.

What is classical music?

"music written in a Western musical tradition, usually using an established form (for example a symphony). Classical music is generally considered to be serious and to have a lasting value" (Oxford Dictionary, n.d.).

Why did I chose classical music?

Classical music can add colour to your life.

Sometimes we don't know why we feel the way we feel, nor can we express in words how we feel. This is when classical music comes into our life, at least into my life. With classical music we can experience a lot of feelings, we can express whatever we want through melodies without using words. That's why I chose classical music, because I can express a lot of things without saying any words. Here the most important thing is the instruments and not what the music is about. With classical music life is like a film of feelings, you just have to change the symphony to feel what you want to feel.

  1. Music is a void into which we fall and can never get out. It is interesting each person's perspective when talking about this topic due to the different musical tastes of each individual, I love knowing that there are people who appreciate music beyond the lyrics.

  2. Hi Mario! What you wrote about music is very interesting and very nice, sometimes when I listen to music I feel that it manages to express how I really feel, being like an outlet for those feelings.
